Adam Jeffrey, has 10 years of consultancy expertise and also has 9 years of public sector experience, having worked for Nottingham City Council’s Economic Development Unit, the East Midlands DoE [as was, now GO-EM] as the City Challenge Co-ordinator where he had responsibility for overseeing the effective delivery of £22.5 million annual government grants to the region’s 3 City Challenge partnerships – the forerunner to the SRB programme. As the Employment, Training and Capacity Building Project Manager for Derby PRIDE Ltd., Adam had direct responsibility for delivering a package of grant initiatives to enhance the skills are and employment opportunities for those living in Derby’s inner city area, for building links with employers and capacity building agencies.
Geoff Birch, has over 22 years in local government working in a variety of roles and supplemented by 7 years in the commercial sector. He brings a wealth of experience in terms of his work project managing regeneration schemes; carrying out community consultation work; review and evaluation; business planning and funding application work for clients. Geoff is a former Regional Committee member of the Big Lottery Fund and Chair of the East Midlands Awards for All programmes. Geoff has direct experience of managing grant funding programmes beyond his Lottery involvement and was responsible for the delivery of
Geoff has a background of working in the construction industry with extensive design, contract, financial, project and resource management experience. Throughout his career he has managed and worked alongside technical support teams e.g. Architects, Cost Consultants and other specialists in delivering high quality building related projects.
The two Directors are the core of the business backed up by the company's Research and Administrative functions. A network of Associates is available to the company if a contract requires specific additional expertise or capacity to ensure the client's needs are fully met.
We offer professional, bespoke services at, what we believe to be, very competitive rates. We do like to have the opportunity to discuss the requirements of a brief, face to face, to get a clear grasp of what a client is seeking. We do not charge for discussing proposals and are happy to meet prospective clients on a "no obligation" basis to see if we can help and discuss the client's needs in more depth.
Our approach is to quote for work where there is real "added value" in hiring the services of a consultant. Some clients have a fixed budget - we put forward proposal that make maximum use of that budget - and are happy to work to a fixed sum agreement. Other clients prefer to involve us on "call off" basis - we keep track of time committed to a contract and are reimbursed according to an agreed day rate.
We are flexible enough to adapt to changing client needs. Sometimes clients have a very clear idea of what they want to achieve from the outset, other times that clarity evolves as the assignment takes off - we work on the basis of meeting client needs but also wanting to achieve the best outcome from the specific piece of work we are doing.
